Infrastructure

Congress must deal with America’s crumbling infrastructure. A 21st Century infrastructure system is a critical component to Indiana’s economy. Mel will work to build up north-central Indiana’s roads, bridges, and broadband internet.

According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, Indiana’s infrastructure holds a D+ rating. Indiana also ranks 22nd in bridges that are structurally deficient. Congress must pass a comprehensive bill that makes robust investments in infrastructure and ensures that materials are made in America, not done on the backs of municipalities and cities who are already strapped for cash.

Moreover, It is unacceptable that 17% of Hoosiers lack access to broadband internet and are unable to fully participate in the global economy. In an increasingly competitive world, we must make sure that every citizen has the tools to achieve the American Dream through free and unfettered internet access.
