Cook moves Rep. Walorski from ‘safe’ to ‘likely’

The Cook Political Report has made its first Indiana congressional district rating change, moving U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski from “Solid Republican” to “Likely Republican.” Howey Politics Indiana agrees with David Wasserman’s assessment, though we won’t begin our ratings until filing deadline occurs at noon Friday. Walorski posted $829,311.19 cash on hand after raising $1,252,787.23 in 2017, including $260,103.10 in the fourth quarter. In contrast, the perceived Democratic frontrunner Mel Hall posted $432,482.49 cash on hand, which is a decent amount for a challenger.
