HALL EXPRESSES DISAPPOINTMENT IN PARTISAN REPUBLICAN TAX PLAN
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Congressional candidate Mel Hall called today’s tax reform announcement by President Trump and Washington Republicans a political stunt after they voted to cut healthcare, increase the deficit, and give tax breaks to the wealthy.
“It’s disappointing to me that Republicans in Washington are excited about kicking folks off healthcare and helping the rich get richer,” Hall said. “Their announcement today demonstrates just how out of touch Congressional Republicans are with real Americans. Instead of strengthening the middle class and giving everyone a fair shot, Jackie Walorski and her Republican colleagues decided to give tax breaks to corporations and the richest of the rich.”
Republicans in Congress refused to work with Democrats to pass a tax reform bill that would have strengthened the middle class, created jobs, and raised wages. Instead, they rushed through a bill that will hurt the hardworking Hoosiers who they claim to help. It is telling that Jackie Walorski continues to refuse to listen to her constituents.
